Samantha Spectre came a long way from the small Minnesota town where she grew up. She built a career as a journalist asking hard questions and following the truth wherever it led. Then a personal betrayal in Washington, D.C., transformed the story into her own. What begins as a search for answers pulls Samantha into a mystery involving money, power, influence, and people who will do almost anything to control the truth. But the deeper she goes, the more she realizes this isn't solely about her. It's about who we trust, what we're told, and the consequences of powerful individuals believing they have the right to dictate what the rest of us see, believe, and ultimately choose. Her search leads her from the corridors of power in Washington to the Oregon coast, and ultimately back to a small road in Minnesota that shaped her long before she understood its significance.
